Frequently asked questions
Do I need prior knowledge or experience for the course?
No. The training builds from the basics, so you can confidently sign up as a beginner. And if you’ve already done a first-aid course, you’ll still learn something new thanks to the field-focused, practical approach.
Who do you recommend the training for?
Anyone who is regularly out in nature: hikers, cyclists (MTB, gravel, bikepacking), water-sports enthusiasts (kayak, canoe, SUP) and hunters — that is, anyone who may often end up in situations where help isn’t immediately nearby. And if you never set foot on a trail, you’re still welcome! Our material is just as useful for responsible parents and teachers.
How long does the course last?
The course runs over two days with an overnight stay. Two days of intensive, hands-on training with lots of individual practice, in a small group.
What will I learn on the course?
Situation assessment and securing the scene, bleeding control and wound care, care of an unconscious casualty and resuscitation, immobilising fractures, handling environmental hazards (cold exposure, heatstroke, ticks, poisoning), plus calling for help and safely evacuating the casualty.
What professional standards is the training based on?
The training is built on international guidelines and an international teaching curriculum.
Do I get a certificate for completing the course?
Yes, we issue a certificate for completing the course.
What should I bring with me?
Comfortable, field-appropriate clothing and gear. We’ll send the detailed list and all practical information after your registration is confirmed.
Where and when are the next dates?
The next two-day field course dates: 16–18 October and 30 October – 1 November 2026, in Kismaros, Hungary. The refresher and water rescue courses will be announced in spring 2027. You can register via the “Sign up” button; for questions, write to info@fieldready.hu.
